Bartholomew Sammut
Bartholomew Sammut was awarded ‘most promising new filmmaker’ at the Warner Roadshow New QLD Filmmakers Awards in 2000 and from then went on to work on a number of Television programs for SBS Television Australia, namely ‘Eatcarpet’ the late night program dedicated to screening smart, experimental and queer short films. They also went on to continue to produce a number of short films as well as working on a number of short film festivals. Their short films have screened widely over the international LGBTQ+ film festival circuit and in 2006 they founded the XPOSED International Queer Film Festival Berlin, which they still to this day direct and curate. In 2009 Bartholomew began working for the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival and in the past years has become a part of the selection committee. As of 2019 they became the Program Manager for Panorama and a member of the Berlinale Series selection committee. Bartholomew also programs the Berliner Kurzfilmrolle that screens every year at the Open Air Cinema in Friedrichshain, Berlin and in 2015 established the Queer Short Film Fund, an initiative from the XPOSED International Queer Film Festival to help foster and support queer film production in Germany. 

Michael Stütz
Michael Stütz has been head of the Panorama section since June 2019.
He was born in Linz, Austria, in 1977 and studied theater, film and media studies at the University of Vienna and the Free University of Berlin. At the same time, he worked for film productions at Studio Babelsberg. Since 2005 he lives and works in Berlin.
After completing an internship at TEDDY, the queer film award at the Berlinale, in 2005, he became assistant to the then Panorama director Wieland Speck in 2006. He later took on other responsibilities in the section, including office management, program coordination, coordination of the TEDDY AWARD, and program advisor to Wieland Speck. From July 2017 to May 2019, he served as curator and program manager of Panorama. He is also the project manager of the TEDDY AWARD.
In addition to his work at the Panorama, he has been active as a guest speaker, curator or jury member at numerous other festivals, including the Guadalajara International Film Festival, Crossing Europe, Mix Brazil or the Tel Aviv International LGBT Film Festival.
From 2011 to 2017, Michael Stütz was co-director of the XPOSED International Queer Film Festival in Berlin. There he was responsible for curating numerous programs, with a focus on Austrian avant-garde and experimental film.
